Carolyn Lee (Austin) Jerome

Age 73, of Joliet, Carolyn Jerome passed away on January 18, 2021, at Joliet Area Community Hospice Joliet.

Carolyn Jerome is survived by her two daughters, Kristine (Ryan) Boswell of Wilmington, IL and Joy (Martin) Borgra of Channahon, IL; three grandchildren, Megan Borgra, Bailey Boswell, Hannah Borgra, and numerous nieces.

Carolyn Jerome was born on April 9, 1947.  Carolyn was a kind soul who always made every occasion special for those around her.  After taking some general courses at Joliet Junior College she began working at Desoto as an office clerk and then Matheson Tri-Gas as an office manager.  She worked with the company for over thirty years.  After retirement, Carolyn enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends.  Carolyn was involved in clubs such as United Methodist Women and Trustees of Ingalls Park United Methodist.  She enjoyed baking, shopping, reading, going on her annual lunch date with her close friends, and just making the most out of every moment.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Helene Austin; sisters, Mary Ann Hibner and Sharon K.  Austin; brother-in-law, Ray Hibner.

Per Carolyn's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.  

A Memorial Visitation for Carolyn will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 2:00 pm. to 4:30 pm, and a prayer service from 4:30 pm. to 5:00 pm at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL 60435.  Masks and social distancing practices are required.
