Maria Isabel Diaz (nee Zamora)

Age 69, of Joliet, passed away on April 18, 2021, at AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet, Illinois.

She is survived by three children, Genaro Zamora of Joliet, Illinois, Julissa (Steve Hedstrom) Garcia of Joliet, Illinois, and Adrian (Jessica) Diaz of Joliet, Illinois; three grandchildren, Ilissa Garcia, Adam Garcia, and Ruben Garcia Jr.; and six siblings, Fr. Marcos Zamora, Refugio Zamora Jr, Gregorio  (Janae) Zamora, Pedro Zamora, Andres (Kimberly) Zamora, and Antonia (Roberto Sr) Vargas.

Maria Isabel Diaz was born on July 18, 1951. She graduated from Joliet Central High School. Worked at Tricon in Downers Grove.  After retirement, she volunteered for the Catholic Charities Foster Grandparent Program.

Our family has lost a truly amazing woman.  We will miss you tremendously. We will keep your memory here with us in our hearts, in our thoughts, and in the love and kindness that we share with those around us. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elena Mancera Zamora and Refugio Zamora Sr. and one brother, Martin Zamora.

Per Maria's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
 

A celebration of Maria’s life will begin with a Memorial Service at Tezak Home to Celebrate Life on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 from 5 pm - 8 pm.

 Face masks will be required.
